CELLULAR TRANSPORT Cellular transport is the way in which nutrients and waste products enter and exit the cell. This is controlled by the cell membrane!
PASSIVE & ACTIVE TRANSPORT Passive transport DOES NOT require cellular energy to allow materials to cross the membrane. Active transport REQUIRES cellular energy (in the form of ATP) to allow materials to cross the membrane.
FILL OUT GRAPHIC ORGANIZERS! Materials : Textbook p. 208 – 213 Voices/Movement : “Restaurant voices,” sitting still Instructions : Fill out the graphic organizer with definitions of the different types of transport. You can work with the people at your table. Remember to scan the page for bold words and headings that might help you find what you need!
TRANSPORT DEMOS Materials : Finished graphic organizers, textbooks Voices/Movement : “restaurant,” moving around the classroom (carefully!) Instructions : With members of your team (#1 – 6), create a demonstration where you act out your form of cellular transport! The number next to the type of transport on your notes will match your team (ex: Team 1 = Diffusion)
