Dear Miss Marks, We are contacting you because we have heard that your class are bright sparks. We are so bored with the current trend in mobile phones that if we see another smooth, shiny cuboid we will poke our eyes out with pencils! We are putting it to your class to design a new mobile phone. Think outside of the box, think of other, less appreciated polyhedrons. We need you to design a mobile phone for us. Your brief follows…. Good luck, our eyes are depending on you! Vodasparkdegrees

Your task Vodasparkdegrees (the famous phone mobile company) are looking to produce a new mobile phone The target market is teenagers They are asking selected young people to design a phone prototype that would be popular with teenagers.

Your Task Design a new phone Make a net that can be made into a prototype phone You are limited to an A4 size net to keep production costs down All key features should be drawn onto the net before assembly Your teachers have also produced a net that may give you some helpful ideas

Big Buttons Choice of colours – black or black and grey No MP3 No games capability No Internet Spaces for family photos Calendar reminders for key events like detentions Choice of 44 naff ring tones from the 20 th century

Features of a good net Top Tips: Sketch it first, with the measurements Add tabs to alternate sides Check measurement again before drawing to scale Colour in and score along the folds before cutting out Cut carefully
