What is Leadership? – To lead is a process – Leaders need followers – Leader needs to use their skills to motivate people to action – The group must have a common goal – You must do it for the right reasons

Leaders take the initiative. They do things, get involved, make things happen. They volunteer, have ideas, are willing to step up to extra responsibility when required. They understand the bigger picture, and Think things through before jumping in

What is CPD?  Not just big time consuming things  Focus on what you need to develop through self knowledge and knowledge of what is going on  Do something every day  Reflect on what you learn  Have a plan: use a structure, but be open

Know yourself = be strong – Self awareness – Self control – Self esteem – Realistic assessment of skills and abilities
