 Made in 1973, Motorola showed off a model of the world's first portable cellular telephone.  Measured more than a foot long, weighed almost 2 pounds  cost $3995  could provide 1 hour of talk time, and its memory could store 30 phone numbers.

Pros Safety Convenient Availability for purchase Communicate globally Cons Overuse Loud conversation Use while driving (very dangerous) Tendency to make you unproductive

 Historically, educators argued that the use of cell phones in education did not provide benefits to the learning process. However, there has been a recent shift in this perspective. Now more and more educators are realizing the benefits that the technology of cell phones provide in the learning environment. 

PROSCONS  Communication, availability during an emergency,  Cheating, texting during the time they should be studying, distractions

 In a recent study, 2,000 tutors stated that 14% of cell phones were a great resource for students.  42% of respondents claimed that “text messages and phone calls interrupt tutoring sessions on a regular basis.”

 All in all, there are lessons to be learned with the evolution trend of cell phones in schools. Today parents and schools have universally embraced the web as a medium for research, educations and efficient communication.
