Linguist = someone who studies the human language Applied Linguistics researcher: someone who posses the technical knowledge about language Teacher: someone who posses the practical knowledge about language

Applied Linguistics Researcher+ Teacher = ? Applied Linguistics Researcher (teaching as a science)+ Teacher (teaching as an art) = improvement and clarification of theories and techniques = benefits? Benefits: to those who are acquiring the language = students. Why? Because they have the techniques and the experience all in one.

Conclusions For many years teacher used to teach without any professional instruction about methology or any specific technique, because there was only one way of teaching and the learning styles and the students background were not important. After several investigations, based in observing and studying why some students learn faster than others and their different behaviors, applied linguistic was born. And it has been being used as a facility for teachers to help and motivate students to keep learning.

As teachers is very important to keep learning about all these different techniques and methodologies to improve our classes. How? Applied linguistics researchers have been investigating not only how students learn, also, which factors are involved in their learning and how to explode that information. It doesn’t matter which subject we are teaching, all these new techniques and theories can be applied to any area.
