Chapter 9 — Object Snap and Tracking A variety of Object Snap modes, represented by AutoSnap™ markers on screen, are available for drawing and editing objects.

Chapter 9 — Object Snap and Tracking The Object Snap marker size and color are controlled in the Options dialog box by selecting the Drafting tab.

Chapter 9 — Object Snap and Tracking Object Snap modes are set in the Drafting Settings dialog box.

Chapter 9 — Object Snap and Tracking Object Snap modes can be accessed from the Object Snap toolbar by selecting the desired command icon.

Chapter 9 — Object Snap and Tracking A shortcut menu, displayed when pressing Shift+Right- click, is an efficient means of accessing Object Snap modes.

Chapter 9 — Object Snap and Tracking Temporary tracking points are beneficial when identifying points not directly on an object.

Chapter 9 — Object Snap and Tracking The Tracking option uses existing points to find the placement point for new objects.

Chapter 9 — Object Snap and Tracking By default, the alignment path for Object Snap Tracking extends across the entire drawing area and is displayed orthogonally from selected points.

Chapter 9 — Object Snap and Tracking When Polar Tracking is enabled, a temporary alignment path is displayed as the cursor crosses user-specified angles. The Dynamic Input tooltip displays a relative distance and a polar angle.

Chapter 9 — Object Snap and Tracking Polar angles and other tracking features are set in the Drafting Settings dialog box.

Chapter 9 — Object Snap and Tracking Additional Polar Tracking angles may be specified in the Drafting Settings dialog box.

Chapter 9 — Object Snap and Tracking Polar Tracking angles and ORTHO can be overridden by entering the < symbol and angle, followed by the desired distance at the keyboard.
