Volumetric Data April 6, 2004

Visible Human Creation of complete, anatomically detailed, three-dimensional representations of the normal male and female human bodies. CT, MR and cryosection images were acquired Male was sectioned at one millimeter intervals Female at one-third of a millimeter intervals

What can you do with all that data???? Browser Knee with animated alpha channels

Given a series of images: how do you create a surface model? Threshold at some density to produce binary image. Select area of interest. Find outer edge of that area. Use marching cubes algorithm to produce surface volume.

Homework Final Project Proposal due Thursday –Project Guidelines OpenGL program – must be interactive, such as a game or a visualization Maya Project – model, animate and render a real- world object, include its realistic movements. Final Project Phase 1 - some graphic output due 4/15.
