Nasreddin HODJA The Turk who makes the world laugh

Nasreddin Hodja was born in 1208 in the village of Hortu near Sivrihisar (a town near Afyon) in the west part of Central Anatolia.

All people liked Nasreddin Hodja and they used to listen to him respectfully all the time.He taught people by his jokes. He always rode on his donkey backward He died in 1284 in Akşehir.

Nasreddin HODJA is a very intelligent man. In 1237, he moved the town Aksehir to study with the notably scholars of the time, Seyid Mahmud Hayrani and Seyid Haci Ibrahim.

Nasreddin Hoca was a philosopher, wise, witty man with a good sense of humor.

Nasreddin HODJA loved all animals.Some of his jokes are about his donkey He always rode on his donkey backward.

The year 1996 was proclaimed “Nasreddin Hodja year” by UNESCO
