Opossums are a magnificent animal. They have a grayish-white coat of under-fur. Their feet have thumb-like toes. Their pounds. They are also short legged.
The mother has 20 or more babies that look nothing like their mother. 10 of the babies could fit in a teaspoon and baby opossums are called Joeys.
Opossums live in North America, they are found in farmland, grasslands, urban and suburban areas, near water, in nests, hollow trees, or in a burrow. They can also be found under decks and houses.
It eats mealworms, crickets, slugs, snails, berries, veggies, larvae, and garbage. It’s prey are Rattle snakes.
Opossum’s predators are bobcats, coyotes, and great horned owls.
They protect themselves by playing dead and letting out a horrible smell.
They live 2-4 years.
This animal is special because their tails are awesome. It has no skin on it.
