Presentation transcript:

OGT Testing Tips 1. Get a good night’s sleep 2. Eat breakfast! They will provide something light. 3. Read EVERYTHING! 4. Follow directions! 5. Give them what they ask for. 6. Write clearly! 7. Leave nothing blank- NOTHING.

Test Day! Go to the bathroom BEFORE you get to your room. Arrive a little early- no reason to be stressed on OGT day. A small snack will be provided for you. Leave cell phone, ipods, etc. OUT of the room.

Reading: Read the entire passage. *Use active reading!!! Read each answer. Refer back to the passage and look around the part they refer you to. In short answer questions, make your you have covered everything you need to get full points. Other ideas?

Writing: Answer essays first. Be sure you are addressing the prompt- what are they asking you for? Should you be persuasive? Etc. Check your spelling, punctuation, and grammar. Other tips?

After the test... Review your work! Check spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc. Be sure each question is answered. Remember: writing too much is better than not enough. Quoting and not needing it is better than needing it and not having it.

Good Luck! You’re all smart! Be confident!
