Savona Where is Savona?
Savona is a seaside town in Liguria. It is in north west of Italy. Now we will talk about the most important monuments in Savona.
PRIAMAR This is “the priamar”, it’s a fortress by the sea. It’s very important for Savona’s tourism.
Torretta This is a very important monument for Savona, because it is a tower by the sea and there were some wars versus Genova, the capital of Liguria
CAMPANASSA This is the “Campanassa”, a part of the old centre of Savona. It’s the highest in the photo.
Piazza Mameli This is a very important square of Savona: Mameli square. At six p.m. the traffic and people stop to remember and respect people who died in the first world war.
PIAZZA SISTO QUARTO This is Sisto IV square and is a meeting point for young people. In the photo you can see the Town Hall.
Piazza Eroe Dei Due Mondi It is a square behind the beach and it’s a monument to “Garibaldi”(a detail in the photo)
