Context Current state with respect to supply of researchers is troubling Of particular concern is the lack of diversity Improving the quality of education must involve research Injecting research into graduate and undergraduate experience Research on computing education CRA needs to fulfill the educational component of CCC

Charter CRA-E aims to strengthen education in the computing fields in order to ensure a strong pipeline of students who participate in research, pursue graduate studies and enter into leadership careers. CRA-E will engage in Community Building Identifying and disseminating innovations in design and delivery of computing education Future road maps (long term future prediction and planning) Coordination with other agencies

Community Building Teaching & Mentoring Bootcamps Workshops Deans’ Swap Meet Research Mentors for High School Research Projects leading to science fairs

Identifying and disseminating innovations in design and delivery of computing education Snowbird-E CRA Outstanding Innovation in Education Award Workshops Archival Trail (create binders of organized knowledge), piggyback on existing CRA publications

Future Sniffing Develop and make available survey instruments focused on diversity and educational quality

Coordination with other agencies Get directly engaged with AP Include members of CRA-W and CDC Include liaisons from ACM and IEEE Provide member to government affairs committee

Community Building Identify/disseminate Innovations in Teaching and CS Education Future Sniffing Coordinate with other Agencies
