CLASSROOM PROCEDURES! Very Important !

Entering the Classroom Be on time! Enter the room QUIETLY and ready to work Begin working on your Journal Problem of the Day- GET SUPPLIES and GET TO WORK. Follow directions at all times Have all of your materials ready every day Be respectful to others and their property Follow all other school and district rules & policies

Restroom Breaks School Policy: School Policy: You CANNOT go to the restroom the first or last 10 minutes of class. My Policy: My Policy: DON’T ASK TO GO! (only if an emergency). Use your passing period time wisely and go then.

If you are Tardy… DO NOT DISRUPT THE CLASS! If you have an excuse, bring it to me, quietly take your seat, and get to work. If I am working at the board, place it on my desk and take your seat. If you do NOT have a written excuse, sign the TARDY LOG, sit down, and begin working.

Tardy Policy Consequences of Being Tardy: 1 st Tardy: Teacher Warning – documented by teacher 2 nd Tardy: Lunch detention – documented by teacher 3 rd Tardy: Student receives lunch detention with parent contact 4 th Tardy: Office Referral ( 1 Day ISS)

Dress Code Dress code will be checked every day. If you are out of dress code it will be documented (in Advisory). Being in dress code means you have your ID around your neck.

THE DOs You should be learning at all times. Take advantage of the class period to do work. Be kind to everyone. When asked a question by the teacher, you should respond “Yes ma’am or No ma’am”. Saying “What?” is unacceptable! Be respectful. This means treating people the way you want to be treated. Help each other. There will come a time when you will need it. Work as a team. This is not a competition, so share your knowledge with others. This shows that you are a leader. **If you fail to follow these procedures you will receive a consequence.

THE DON’TS Don’t get out of your seat without raising your hand and asking permission. Don’t blurt out answers, always raise your hand first. Don’t interrupt someone if they are talking – that includes the teacher! Don’t get up and throw away trash without asking. Don’t throw trash in the trash can from your desk. Don’t be a bully. It only shows just how scared you really are. **If you fail to follow these procedures you will receive a consequence.

Discipline Plan First Time: Verbal Warning Second Time:Written Warning Third Time: Call Home Fourth Time: Parent/Teacher conference at school Fifth Time: Office Referral- Include dates in which parents have been contacted and student has served detentions.

MATERIALS NEEDED!! A 1” Binder – for Interactive Journaling and Coursework PENCILS (LOTS OF THEM!) RED PEN (FOR HOMEWORK CHECK ONLY) **Please keep in mind that supplies will need to be replenished throughout the year. If you lose your notebook or it runs out of paper, IT MUST BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY!!!

Late Work If you are absent please pick up your missed work from the tray. Late work is not acceptable. For every day the assignment is late 10 points will be deducted for a maximum of 30 points off. After three days it will not be accepted and will be counted as a 0.
