Motion of Gears EF 151 Project Fall 2007 Team Members: Josh Bishop, Justin Boyd, David Hanson, and Ben Crilly

The Design Components: Triggering Mechanism -KE  PE Electronic Component Mechanical Components -Transfer -Gears

Our Project

Construction: Wood Gears and Support System Gear ratio of 1:1.5 (determined by number of teeth) Plastic/Electronic Car The Challenges Overcoming and reducing friction caused by miniscule flaws in the gear teeth.

Conclusions: While gears are efficient, they have to be precise to work effectively. Torque is the major factor in our design for overcoming the static friction.
