Administering a Griffiths Course Mrs Rebecca Shearer Postgraduate Administrative Co-ordinator, Edinburgh

6-months Pre-course Set course date with tutors Arrange visit to Special Needs School for practical session on Day 3 Offer places to delegates on waiting list –Maximum 12 delegates per course –To respond by specific date or place reallocated Arrange rooms to hold practical sessions

3-months Pre-course Finalise candidates for course (ideally) Arrange course lunch/dinner Check or have cases checked for missing items Order replacement equipment as required Contact Dr Burne with final course numbers –Arrange to have folders and contents sent or to have photocopying done locally for candidates folders

2-months Pre-course Send out course information to participants: –Information letter –Map showing location –Programme –List of candidates Start to recruit children to assist with practical sessions Send out course information to lecturers: –Programme –List of candidates

1-month Pre-course Arrange teas/coffees/lunches/course dinner etc Chase up unpaid course fees Copy/arrange to have copied lecturers ’ handouts and add to packs Label folders and make name badges Ensure all necessary equipment organised and ready for course

During Course Arrange presents as ‘ thank you ’ for each child who helps Arrange any transport required to get participants to ‘ Special Needs School ’

End of Course Get participants to go through cases and check everything back in correct case/bag Gather in books Gather in assessments sheets Tutors sign certificates and registration forms (to be handed back to administrator) Tie up finances –Late course fees –Tutors fees –Thank you to Special Needs School
