TRAINEES’ REFLECTIONS Prague September 15th/19th, 2004

Prague September 2004

ABOUT CO-OPERATION Everyone did his part  By posing a problem  By suggesting a solution  By sharing experience/knowledge  By sharing culture  By suggesting different perspectives

Prague September 2004 A GENERAL METHOD, A REAL AIM  The good thing about it:PW is adaptable to any topic/theme/situation  The bad thing about it: it can be difficult to imagine problems that might arise

Prague September 2004 THE PEER GROUP Working in a peer group we could take advantage of dealing with Similar backgrounds Different perspectives Different curricula

Prague September 2004 THE TUTORING  It was discrete  It was significant  It gave us the chance to share/compare

Prague September 2004 THE TIMING We felt under pressure about tasks We had to fit a new task among ordinary duties We didn’t feel we had enough time to understand and digest what we learnt BUT Schedules were flexible!!

Prague September 2004 GENERAL REFLECTIONS “It has been very rewarding for me to work with you. It’s good to discuss these items with people who have the same interests and share the same ideas and values. And above all it’s good to realise that after this shared work we have even gained friends And that’s the most important part, I dare say….”

Prague September 2004 GENERAL REFLECTIONS “In the UK we have an expression that to work with something difficult is likened to trying to plait the mist/fog… Sometimes I felt as though I was plaiting mist with a particular problem; then I would read one of your messages and see a way to go forward…”

Prague September 2004 GENERAL REFLECTIONS Sharing this experience gave us the chance to feel ourselves in our students’ our colleagues’ clothes when we give/propose them a difficult task and to apply the strategies they would apply. I think this was very significant for our training.
