Preparing for your pupil Consider information provided by parent. Begin reviewing activities, lessons, and philosophy related to the suggested needs.

Preparing a Folder Include the following: Writing paper (preferably a notebook or pad) Burke Reading Interview Interest Inventory Tutoring Log

Preparing Materials Select interest inventory appropriate for age level of the child. Collect a range of texts for determining instructional level of the reader. Bring supplies that are potentially necessary.

Initial Session Exchange contact information with parent(s). Establish pick-up/drop-off routine. Dismiss parent to begin session. Burke Reading Interview. Interest Inventory Sample readings (to determine instructional level) Writing Sample (if time allows)
