Autumn in Slovenia Primary school Rovtarske Žibrše

The school year starts in Autumn  The first day of school in Slovenia is usually on September 1, unless it is a Friday or the weekend.

Autumn is a wonderful time of year!  We like working in our school garden.

Gifts of autumn in our alphabetical garden

Plums, nuts, chestnuts and leaves...

The roasted chestnuts

Autumn in our classroom

Autumn in our pictures

We love autumn colours

Pumpkins and corn cobs

We have „potato“ holidays Many asks why we call them potatoes holidays instead of autumn holidays or even chestnut holidays. The reason, of course, lies in the past where the school holidays were not ment for relaxation but for children to help at home and in the fields. Nowadays, of course, of all the tradition, stayed only the name.

Autumn words  Autumn-jesen  Tree-drevo  Leaf- list  Chestnut- kostanj  Potato- krompir  Pumpkin- buča  Rain-dež  Wind-veter  Cloud-oblak
