He is married to Lois, and is the father of Meg, Chris, Stewie. He has a thick Rhode Island accent and is performed by the show's creator and lead writer, Seth MacFarlane.

Born Lois Pewterschmidt, she met Peter when he was employed as a towel boy. Her rich father cannot stand Peter and makes him do painful things for fun.

Meg lives in the fictional town of Quahog, Rhode Island, where she attends James Woods High School as a junior. Meg is constantly seen trying desperately to be part of the "cool crowd."

Though Chris is not the brightest one in the family, he is particularly coherent and makes a good point when talking about movies. Chris deals with the problems that most pubescent boys face: acne, girls, and school. He is 14 years old and is enrolled at James Woods Regional High School.

Stewie is a one- year-old and has a sophisticated attitude, and has remained the same age ever since. Though he was originally a child evil genius bent on world domination, instead the writer’s are now focusing on a more flamboyant character.

Brian is 8 years old. While he exhibits typical dog behaviors he can also speak intelligently, drive a car, and walk. He also has a particularly sharp wit.

Peter has three best friends - his Spooner Street neighbors Glenn Quagmire, Joe Swanson and Cleveland Brown. They enjoy hanging out at their local bar, The Drunken Clam, drinking and chewing the fat.
