How to measure O 2 Levels Using a light sensor It emits a visible and inferred light The sensor monitors how much inferred light is absorbed The more inferred absorbed the more Oxygen in the blood

How to monitor pulse rate To monitor an electrical change of the heart Electrodes are attached to the skin These are gel pad which detect small changes in the potential difference The machine amplifies the signal and displays it

Keeping patients alive Defibrillator – Use to start the heart again when it stops – It stores a charge to produce a large potential difference Ventilator – Uses pistons to pump air in to a patients lungs Pacemaker – Keeps the heart beating by providing a potential difference at regular intervals
