Degraded Image Rebecca Lowder – Sight & Sound
OK, let’s begin! I had this idea of contrasting the warmth of the picture with the frigid temps outside, so I stuck my picture in the snow. Uh.... All right, so that didn’t really do much. Oh well. I hung up the picture to dry.
Pulling the picture from the clip it was drying on caused it to tear at the top. I spied my sewing kit and stitched a red line along the picture, from the top, around the falling girl, and over the trees in the background.
Then I folded it into a hat and took this picture!
I printed the picture out and tore it up into tiny bits to make this piece of, uh, modern art...
...Then folded it into a paper airplane.
I cut out paper stars and arranged them on the wall with my lights to take this photograph.
Then I printed out the picture with slightly more saturated color and created this image.
All that work for nothing: I cut it again into tiny bits and make paper flowers.
Finally, as I was finishing up, I decided to go full circle. I taped the petals of the flowers together into a sheet and used it to cut out the girl and mountains, then recreate my original image.
FIN!
