God dwells in the church – and in us personally – by the Spirit CORPORATELY (Ephesians 2:22) And in him you [plural] too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. CORPORATELY (Matthew 18:20) For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." PERSONALLY (Romans 8:9-11) You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if [indeed] the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. {10} But if [indeed] Christ is in you,… {11} And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus… is living in you, {11} …through his Spirit, who lives in you.
“Hiding” from God (Genesis 3:8-9) Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. {9} But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"
The Omnipresent God sees our sin (Job 31:4, 14) Does he not see my ways and count my every step? …What will I answer when called to account? (Psalms 90:8) You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence. (Proverbs 15:3) The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good. (Hebrews 4:13) Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (1 Corinthians 4:5) He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts.
◦ He’s with us when we are afraid, hurting or lonely (Psalm 118:6-7) ◦ He’s with us as we obey him in spite of our fears (Joshua 1:7-9; Jeremiah 1:5-8). ◦ He is with us as we share the gospel and make disciples (Matthew 28:19-20). He is with us! (Psalms 118:5-7) In my anguish I cried to the Lord… The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? The LORD is with me; he is my helper. (Joshua 1:9) Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." (Matthew 28:19-20) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them … {20} and teaching them to obey… And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Walking with Him… (2 Corinthians 6:16) … For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."
