MRS. ANNA WARD JAMES MARTIN MS Digestive and Urinary Systems

DO NOW!!!! (Page 32) The Digestive System

Announcements Quiz Tomorrow  Digestive System and Urinary System  Know the Functions and Organs of Each Your Multiple Choice and Vocabulary Tests are next week.  YOU HAVE TO STUDY OR YOU WILL NOT PASS.  THERE ARE NO RETAKES. BE PREPARED. Notebook Check is on Wednesday as well during the test.

Urinary System Videos

Three systems that help remove waste from the body: 1. The Urinary System 2. The Digestive System 3. The Respiratory System

Urine Fun Facts Urine is almost odorless when it leaves a healthy body.

Urine Fun Facts Urine is sterile when it leaves the body.

Urine Fun Facts Drinking a lot of water results in pale urine; not drinking enough in dark, brownish urine. (GROSS!!!)

Urine Fun Facts Urine is often diluted and added to potted plants and plants in gardens.

Urine Fun Facts It is possible to die from holding your urine too long.

Urine Fun Facts The human bladder is as big as an average human brain

Urine Fun Facts Roughly a person urinates 7,850,000,000,000 gallons of fluid in his/her lifetime.

The Urinary System The Urinary System filters water and nutrients from the blood The Urinary System has three parts:  Bladder  Ureter  Urethra

Switching gears back to the digestive system Activity 8 Stations:  Mouth  Esophagus  Stomach  Liver  Pancreas  Gall Bladder  Small Intestine  Large Intestine

In order to do this, we have to work together!!! As a class, you will draw out the digestive System on the butcher paper. I am going to time you. The class with the fastest time will win a prize. The system and parts will need to be labeled on the sheet. It should be neat and easy for me to read. Do not run off with my Sharpies. They are slowly disappearing!!!! The system needs to be connected. Reference material will need to be provided on the board. Fifth Block is the current title holder for the Immune System Activity

Now that you are done… Return to your original station. Each person has a different colored marker. Please write one fact about each organ next to it on the paper. Label it with your initials so I can give you credit in my grade book. You may use your notebooks or a textbook for facts. Try your organ chart on page 30. MATERIALS MUST BE PUT AWAY WHEN YOU ARE DONE WITH THEM. I AM NOT YOUR PERSONAL ASSISTANT, MOM, OR HOUSEKEEPER.
