When did the civil war occur The civil war began on April 12, 1861 when the confederacy fired on fort Sumter and ended on April 9, 1865 when general Ulysses s. grant surrendered.

Who was involved in the civil war  the union was made out of twenty four states and the confederacy was only made of twelve. The border states were: Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Arkansas.

What alliances were formed during the civil war France helped the confederacy and Mexico helped the confederacy because they didn’t like president Abraham Lincoln. But only England helped the union because they thought that owning slaves was wrong.

 General Robert e. lee was the leader of the union army during the entire war and never surrendered even in the most horrible conditions.

Who where the leaders of the confederate General Ulysses s. grant was the leader of the confederate army during part of the war. At first he declined the offer but then after a few lost battles he accepted.

Who was the real leader of the union Abraham Lincoln was the president of the union states until he was shot by john Wilkes both on April 14, 1865 five days after the war ended.

 Jefferson Davis started as a senator but when the war started he was the first and only president of the confederacy.

 April 12, 1861 the confederacy fired on fort Sumter in South Carolina.  July seventy- five thousand confederate soldiers fought ninety-seven thousand union soldiers at a battle called Gettysburg.  July 21, 1861 The first bull run was the first battle in the civil war where the union tried to take the town of Manassas junction.

What were the main vehicles used during the civil war To get the wounded out of battle they used a wagon called the ”mosses” ambulance wagon it would be good for war because it would have a tent unfolded around it. It could carry up to twelve men with three laying down. It was built in 1858 by dr. I. Moses.

What were the main weapons used during the civil war One of the main weapons where the smoothbore cannon used from 1857 to 1865 it was made of iron and shot twelve pound cannon balls and originally made for the president of France.

How did the civil war affect America’s future We had to go into a reconstruction era to rebuild all the buildings and land that got destroyed it was a hard time for everyone and both sides where suffering because of the war. Many people where poor and couldn't pay their taxes so they where thrown in jail or kicked of their land. The civil war had a bad hit on America.

How did the civil war end By general Ulysses s. grant signing a surrender to gen. Robert e. lee in Virginia.
