Today we will identify pronouns correctly in writing and speaking. Tell your partner what we will identify today.

A pronoun replaces a specific noun. For example: Linda is home. She is home. The pronoun she, replaced the noun Linda. Which pronoun replaced Linda?

 When you replace a noun in the subject, you use the pronouns he, she, it, we, and they. He replaces a boy or man. She replaces a girl or woman. It replaces a thing or animal. They replaces two or more people or things.

These are some examples of how pronouns replace nouns: 1.Jenna is going to college. She is going to college. 2.Paul borrowed a book. He borrowed a book. 3.The bird flew across the sky. It flew across the sky. 4.The teddy bear was on the shelf. It was on the shelf. 5.My mom and I went to the market. We went to the market. 6.The boys ran down the stairs. They ran down the stairs.
