Presentation transcript:

Manchester Qualification M-O-048. Mechanical dummy. Check that tuning of alignment parameters had correct sign and adjustment of transfer chucks Z was correct. M-O-049. Qualification module for Liverpool. M-O-050. Qualification module for Glasgow. Improved XY and Z survey results from M-O-048 onwards. Improved visual inspection of components and traveller sheets. Smartscope programmed and analysis of results automated. IV curve upload automated. Problems with redundancy part of confirmation test, then readout system died. Two more outer assembly jigs prepared. Many small fixes necessary. Each new jig was used to make a first mechanical module last Friday. All modules will be scanned at 1200 dpi – can see damaged wire bonds, glue coverage under fan-ins, scratches, dust, etc. Black clip cutters made but can be improved. Difference between Liverpool and Manchester surveys still need to be understood. Suspect tilt of thick glass fiducials. Pinhole fiducials being prepared. Steve Snow RAL 15/7/03

Survey results Last 3 modules have tuned alignment parameters – significantly narrower spread. Last 3 modules have adjusted chuck level and turnplate is supported at all 4 corners during glue curing.

Z shape parameters All these shape parameters should be zero. Evidence of improvement. I suspect that spine bow has little or no influence.

Spine inspection Spine 69 survey on smartscope, shows 0.8mm bow and twist. Rejected as out of spec but will be used in mechanical module. Spine 69 also had large crack in TPG. Spine 36 had pieces of TPG sticking out in two places. Removed with scalpel and used in module 50.

Module images Distortion of wire bonds, taken from scanned image of M-O-050. Scratch on W32F on M-O-050, taken with smartscope.

Survey systematics Systematic differences between survey sites are generally small compared with tolerances... except on midyf 2.8 vs 5 microns and Z values 27 vs 115 mcrons.
