Hinckley Community Services

We’ve been working with people from around the Hinckley area to create a shared vision for community health services

Over the course of two events, we came together with staff, patients, carers and members of the public to create a vision of what services we need, now and in the future

Our events

This is how our shared vision was created…

First we thought about what our shared ambition was for care in Hinckley

Free flowing care, delivered closer to home Care needs to be comprehensive, efficient and delivered by services working together People will feel respected and that they come first People told us they wanted

We talked about some of the challenges that the health service will face to meet the needs of the population in the future

And the plans which are already in place for shaping care in the future

So we thought together practically about what we could achieve by 2017 Making sure that we kept the future challenges in mind

An emphasis on prevention and early warning Services becoming “joined up” and interfaces between professionals becoming seamless Care will be delivered closer to home and available 7 days a week The group thought we could achieve

We took a step back, and thought about how services are being delivered now

But while there are a lot of great things happening We know that there is a lot more to be done

People told us that Health and social services are not joined up and IT systems do not communicate with each other Some buildings and equipment require improvement Services are not delivered efficiently and cost more than they should People spend too much time in hospital when they are fit to be home

To get from here to our positive future, we’re going to need to make some bold steps

So then we thought together about what those could be

Buildings which are fit for purpose Reduce waste in the way services are delivered Follow through with evidence based decisions, even if they seem initially unpopular Take services to the people of Hinckley & Bosworth

People who contributed to our vision signed it, to confirm that this was what they had agreed

This is where people endorsed the process and signed the shared vision They also wrote their feelings about the event on the graphic

When you put it all together

This is where people tell us we are now

These are the bold steps we should take

This is our goal for 2017

This is the full shared ambition

So, what happens next?

We want to know what you think Do you share our vision?

Join the conversation and tell us
