Personal Power 9: Goal setting

 The power of good habits and characteristics  The power of goal setting  Everything started out as a thought  Three areas: personal development, things you want, and financial goals.  Put yourself into the state in which you can create anything you want.  Imagine yourself being a kid, what kind of goals would you have?

 Who would you like to become?  What would you like to do?  What kind of personal trait do you want?  What kind of ability and achievement would you like to have?  Anything you want to develop in your life.  Start writing now and do not let your pen stop. Personal development goals

 Now, go through your goals and write down the timeline for each goal.  For example, put the number of years it will take for you to accomplish the goal.  Remember, it is ok if you do not know how to achieve your goals. Just list the timeline for your goals.  Select the top 3 goals which can be done within a year.  For each of them, write down why you are absolutely committed to achieve the goal.  Are the reasons good enough to keep you following through? If not, pick other goals or find other reasons.

 For each of your top nine goals, write down one action you can take right away to make initial progress toward achieving it.  Take that action toward each goal today  Do the Rocking Chair Test to help you commit to accomplishing your goals.  Imagine yourself much older, sitting in your rocking chair and looking back on your life, first, as if you had not achieved your goal.  Next, imagine yourself having achieved it. (Experience the pain that would follow not doing it along with the pleasure that would come from accomplishing your goal.)

 If there is no economical constraints, what are the things you desire?  Imagine yourself as a little kid again. Just write down whatever you want without any limitation.  For example, do you want a helicopter? Or even a time machine?  Things which other people say it is impossible to have.  Please writing down the things you want. Thing goals (things you want)

 Now, go through these “things” goals and write down the timeline for each goal.  Select the top 3 goals which can be done within a year.  For each of them, write down why you are absolutely committed to get the thing you want.

 Do the same thing for your financial goals.
