Kimonos are the national costume of Japan, and one of the earliest designs of the Kimonos were part of Chinese clothing. There are 5 different types of kimono’s symbolizing a woman’s status.

The 5 different types of kimonos

Consists of wide pleated skirts In earlier days, only worn by men In ancient times, the Hakama was worn by the samurai so opponent couldn’t see footwork

Casual version of Kimono Worn by only court ladies
