Nitty Gritty— Classwork& Homework Classwork Daily work in class is essential to understanding the content Graded materials include: exit slips, mini-projects, etc. Homework Homework is viewed as independent practice Weekly homework quizzes are the “recital” to check that homework is completed and understood Students review previous night’s homework at the beginning of class Answer keys for the entire focus topic are provided at the beginning of the unit

Quizzes Formative Quizzes are given on a regular, at least weekly, basis Most quizzes take minutes to complete Feedback is given within two days after quiz is taken Quiz grades will be adjusted under certain circumstances

Tests There will be at least two tests given each grading period The tests will normally occur during the 3 rd and 6 th weeks of each grading period The tests may not “cover” an entire focus topic unit, but they will be about essential material necessary to show mastery of Geometry content studied thus far

Projects There will be at least three types of project given each grading period…. Focus Topic Binder (in the “Other” Component) M & Ms/Vocabulary Cards (in the “Other” Component) Portfolio/Writing/Work Project (in the “Proficiency Exam” Component) and On-Demand Writing about the piece

WHAT TOPICS WILL WE COMPLETE THIS GRADING PERIOD? Transformations (Chapter 1) Geometry Review (Focus Topic #1) Angle Relationships (Chapter 2) Algebra Review (Focus Topic #2) Cartoon Creations Writing/Drawing Transformation Project

We’re in This Together!!
