 Lived in Andes Mountains  Natural barriers were deserts and rain forest

 Absolute monarchy  Sapa Inca ruled everything – believed to be a descendent of the sun god

 Polytheists – worshipped more than one god

 Terrace farming – cut land from the sides of mountains leveled the top, then built stone walls to support the land. Looked like very large wide steps.

 Freeze-dried food – left in cold to freeze then stamped on to remove water and left in sun to dry. Great invention because made food edible for a long period of time.  Rope Bridge – Used to get from one side of the mountains to the other without having to travel down and up the mountains.
