INDUSTRY ADVISORY BOARDS BEST PRACTICES: THE DREAM Composition – Relates to Programs – Current and Past Professionals in fields represented – diversity needed! – Leverages Industry/ Educator Collaboration Efforts (research, fellowships, etc.) – Provides potential for student networking/internships/jobs Process – Formal meetings, two-way conversation between industry & academe – Frequency & attendance rigor demonstrated – Program Chair at institution provides IAB member training; complies with AABI Criteria MUST statement Content – Notes & proceedings published & available – Follow up is systematic and recorded – Formal consideration to influence curricula Evaluation – Evidence of IAB involvement required in self study and for AABI Visiting Teams – Visiting teams see IAB “consciousness” among IAB member, faculty, and students.
