October 11-13, 2006 San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA Trial Observations Japan is ahead of all other markets Europe is ahead of N. America CALA just starting to get up to speed on IMS

October 11-13, 2006 San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA Trial Observations We are in multiple trials and some deployments –12 trials, 5 deployments –MRFC and MRFP function and multiple applications have been IMS certified –Trials have validated our roadmap on Applications UM, Conferencing moving to Video –No killer application; seamless user experience across networks, access and services promises convenience, and carrier savings –QOS and Security becoming the major operational issues Softswitch vendors are still the anchor component –Integration and Interop issues are slowing deployments

October 11-13, 2006 San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA Learnings from Trials and Deployments Here are the milestones met in the trials: –Key applications including Voice Mail, Unified Messaging, Conferencing, Privacy Screening, Find Me Follow Me in addition to our Mereon 6000 Media Server have been IMS certified by the trial carriers –In 2006, it has moved from trial to deployment with 5 Tier One carriers –These trials started in 2005, giving added momentum to our already ambitious IMS plans –Video, Security, Resiliency have proven to be critical for success in these trials
