1. Menu Planning select food and beverages that will meet customers’ needs and make a profit 2. Production make the food and beverages. Makes sure food is ready when needed and looks attractive. Avoid waste. Retain nutrients. Makes sure food is safe and wholesome

1.Service serves food to customers. Train servers. Make sure all employees and servers use good customer service 1.Purchasing and Receiving buy the right quality and quantity of food at the best price. Make sure they arrive when needed—make sure it is stored properly---establish good rapport with reliable suppliers--inventory

1.Food safety and sanitation make sure that procedures are followed to ensure products are safe to eat 1.Management oversee all functions of the business---that business is making a profit---meeting customers needs

1.Marketing and Sales learn what customers want---develop a marketing plan---advertise---sell food and beverage services 1.Human resources manage all employee issues, such as pay, benefits, hiring, firing, training

1.Accounting keep track of all money that flows in and out of the business---monitor costs 1.Security make sure money is safe from theft---make sure customers and their property is safe from harm
