Tips for Sending Scores Official scores must be sent to the campus SAT: 3594 (all 23 campuses) ACT: send to one CSU campus through ACT, then send to additional campuses through csumentor via ACT Manager at no cost Send all scores – CSU combines to create the highest score

Application Process Filing Period: October 1 – November 30 Apply early!! Goal should be November 1 Apply at Watch application tutorial video Read ALL instructions! Send official SAT/ACT scores if not done at the time of test registration

Application Process Self reported application Send official transcript after graduation unless requested by campus earlier Print application confirmation page Read – very important “next steps”! Create campus portal account Campus ID number will be sent to weeks after application is submitted Check at least 2x/week “To Do Lists” - Where you will be notified of additional documentation needed, deadlines, admission/denial communication

Advice from Admissions Officials Make sure to use legal name on ALL documents Apply broadly – have Plan A, Plan B, Plan C Apply to Sac State (Local CSU priority) Check housing application requirement when applying Comply with ALL deadlines & campus instructions Transcripts, req. tests, deposit deadlines, intent to register, financial aid requirements, orientation registration Electronic communication Check regularly Remove spam filters Maintain senior grades/finish well D/F in any senior class (even non A-G) could result in admissions cancellation at some campuses Must maintain eligibility index for campus/major

English & Math Placement Tests EPT – English Placement Test Can test out by SAT (CR 500) or ACT (22 Eng.) AP (3,4,5 on Lang. or Lit.) “Exempt” or “Conditional” status on 11 th grade EAP (Conditional = Successful completion of AP Lit or ERWC senior year) ELM – Entry Level Math Exam Can test out by SAT/SAT Subject Test (Math 550) or ACT (23 Math) AP (3,4,5 on Calc or Stats) “Exempt” or “Conditional” status on 11 th grade EAP (Conditional = Successful completion of math higher than Algebra 2) Deadline to complete testing, first of May (March is recommended)

Placement Tests continued Will not affect your admission – helps determine which courses best match your level Can be taken at your local CSU campus Costs $18 for each test – EPT and ELM Must register weeks prior to the test date If scores indicate remediation is necessary – enrollment in Early Start Program (ESP) will begin in summer term prior to starting in the fall

Financial Aid & Scholarships FAFSA – 1/1/2016 through 3/2/2016 Everyone should apply, regardless of income Use “FAFSA on the Web Worksheet” now Apply for FSA ID at you & parentswww.fafsa.gov Cal Grant – GPA Verification RHS will electronically submit by March 2 nd Contact campus Financial Aid office if you have special circumstances Research campus Financial Aid website pages for scholarship information Continually check RHS website: College and Career Center/scholarship section

Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Support services for historically low income and educationally disadvantaged students To qualify, will look at family income last 10 years EOP application must be filled out after the submission of the main CSU application

Timeline Apply by November 30 Complete FAFSA in January Apply for local scholarships in February Receive admissions/denials by end of March Give your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and possible deposit by May 1, 2016 Send official graduation transcript by June 30, 2016
