Blues Explosion  During the 1950s the blues became “electrified” and began to work its way into popular music and culture with the beginning of Rock and Roll music.  The Great Migration of Blacks from the rural South to the urban North also lead to a change in Blues music from rural blues to urban blues.  Important artists of the time period include Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, and B.B.
