Timeline Rollout of Select Components of Home Base to Year Round Schools* Rollout of Select Components of Home Base to Traditional Schools* July 2013 August 2013 * Includes the Student Information, Curriculum and Instruction, Classroom and Benchmark Assessment, and Educator Evaluation with other components to follow. In September 2012, NC began transitioning to a new student information system by upgrading from NC WISE to the new Student Information System (SIS)(PowerSchool). In the fall of 2012, Home Base staff began identifying, vetting, tagging and aligning instructional resources for Home Base. In December 2012, a contract was awarded to Pearson for the instruction, assessment, and dashboard components of the instructional improvement system. In February 2013, the contract for Educator Evaluation & Professional Development components was awarded to Public Consulting Group (PCG) and Truenorthlogic. Home Base Webinars & Updates The webinar that will focus on the Student Information System (SIS) side of Home Base is being offered today, February 14 th, from 9:00 to 11:00am. Home Base Groups The Home Base User Group meets monthly to discuss end-user ideas and needs, to voice potential issues or concerns, and to let NCDPI know what members see as valuable tools in Home Base. If you would like become a part of the User Group to give the NCDPI staff your input as we work toward implementation of Home Base, please sign up to be part of the group and to have regular updates. In February, the User Group will meet Face to Face on February in Raleigh. More details about the face to face will be ed out to members of the group. Our monthly meetings are generally via webinar, and the “sign-up” link for the User Group will take you to a webinar registration. If you are a new member, please register for it even if you intend to meet face to face.sign up
Home Base Groups Home Base Resource Consortium members meet monthly to make recommendations about sharing resources and to discuss best practices for vetting, aligning and including resources in Home Base. Meetings are virtual with an occasional face-to-face gathering, usually once a year. Next Meeting: Tuesday, Feb. 26 from 3:30 to 5 pm. LEA staff and charter schools staff are encouraged to join the Home Base Resource Consortium to participate. Check to see if your LEA or Charter is a part of the Consortium here.
