What is Artificial Intelligence? Is it a mechanical system operating inside the many things around us? Could it be a computerized chip forming the thoughts in our minds?

Definition Artificial Intelligence is a division of computer science and engineering that deals with intelligent behavior, learning, and adaptation in machines.

Financial institutions use systems to detect charges or claims that are not normal and flag these for human investigation. Homeland security uses speech and text recognition, data mining, and spam filtering. Robots have also become common in many industries that are considered dangerous to humans.
