(4) © 2005 BERA What We Measure As a measure of benefits to students, we selected increase in base salary. A more involved set of data would include: Value of medical insurance Dollar value of paid vacation Value of retirement benefits, etc. Increased rate of pay increases Increase in base salary, however, is a sufficient and easy measurement.
(5) © 2005 BERA We Measure Before and After Salaries A tight, simple idea. 1) What did the student make before attending college? …… 2) What was the student’s salary when we placed them? ….. 3) What was the $ increase? …………………………………….. 4) What was the percentage increase? ………………………….. $1,000 $1,500 $500 50%
(6) © 2005 BERA Once We Have the Data — We Let Everyone Know We post this notice: For January, the average monthly increase in salary for our graduates was $500, which is a 50% increase. You may not have an increase in your salary or your increase in salary may be more or less this average amount.
