A document produced by the school Approved by DCSF, DfT & Gloucestershire Highways Considers all the issues relevant to journeys to & from your School Includes concerns about safety, health & the environment Makes proposals for ways to make improvements Brings together the ideas & contributions of different groups of people to help solve problems Links to the ‘Every Child Matters’ agenda, Healthy School status and the Eco School programme

Increasing traffic & congestion Safety concerns Health & environmental effects “In slow moving traffic, pollution levels are higher inside cars than outside” ‘ We want to bring about a step change in home to school travel patterns to cut congestion & pollution, but also to allow many more pupils to take regular exercise’ Statement by the DfES / DfT 2003
