The suffering of the King – Mk.14/15 We have seen in Mark:- 1.Jesus is God’s anointed Saviour & King Mk Jesus is welcomed as that King –11: Jesus shows his authority as King:- a. Cleansing the temple -11:12-21 b. Challenging the leaders -11:27-12:40 4. Jesus looks forward to the display of his glory as King – 13:26,27 The events of Chs.14 & 15 come as a shock

1. The horrific suffering of King Jesus a.Anticipating the suffering:- 1. The plots of enemies & friend- 14:1,2,10,11,18,21 2. Anticipates his death & burial - 14:8,23,24 3. Desertion by his friends -14: The horror of what is coming-14:32-36
