Global national disasters Written by Edrissa Ken-Joof “In the last six months, our world has experienced natural disasters never before experienced in such a magnitude in human history.” “The Tsunami disaster which hit the coast of India, Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and many of the islands in the Indian Ocean and in south-east Asia killed several thousands of people. The full toll is yet to be known but it is estimated that some 250,000 people lost their lives.” “Whilst the world is still recovering from the shock of the Tsunami, a hurricane hit the Caribbean and devastated the city of New Orleans, killed thousands and left millions homeless. That was hurricane Katrina. As the US begins to recover from hurricane Katrina, cyclones also hit Japan, China and Korea leaving death and destruction in these countries.” “No sooner have we recovered from cyclones and tidal waves in south-east Asia and in the Americas, a severe and brutal earthquake hit India and Pakistan killing some 40,000 people and leaving millions homeless.” In our wonderful community, the terror that comes with natural disasters is eliminated. There is no weather, no extreme cold or heat. There are no natural disasters like hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, etc. People don’t get hurt and if they do we medication to help them. Our community is the best by far because we don’t have any natural disasters, disease, or warfare. We pride ourselves on having a totally orderly community with no differences; with differences come disaster. Individuality brings war over differences of beliefs. Overall, our community is the best and we want you to come to have the best life possible.
