Key Vocabulary Words Evaporation Condensation Precipitation Run-off

Evaporation The sun shines down onto the water. Heat from the sun changes the water into WATER VAPOR as it rises into the sky.

Condensation As the water vapor rises into the sky it forms into clouds. When the water vapor forms into clouds this is known as condensation.

Precipitation When the clouds get cold and heavy precipitation falls from the clouds in forms of rain, snow, sleet or hail.

Run off After precipitation comes down from the clouds the rain or snow then goes into the ground, ponds, rivers, streams and oceans as run off.

Continuous Circle The Water cycle then goes back through the cycle or circle by the sun heating the water and evaporating it into the sky. The Water Cycle never stops.
