The Blitz started in 1940.The Blitz was a continuous event when the German Luftwaffe bombed Britain for 57 consecutive nights. Contents

The Blitz started because Hitler started bombing cities in England to put pressure on the prime minister and to have a much bigger empire. Content

An air raid is when the sirens started it meant that bombs were dropping down so everyone had to go inside their air raid shelters. Anderson shelter Content

An Blackout is when the bombs are coming, the ARP warden has to blow a whistle and the people of the town has to turn off all there lights so the germen bombers don’t see there them and they will be safe. Hopefully well more safe than normal.

Gas masks were used in world war 2 to prevent the Gas from bombs killing people. | Children had a Mickey mouse gas masks to keep them calm and help them to put it on.

ARP Wardens were people that get you to safety when the black outs start and afterwards they try to find people who survived. The ARP Wardens got a nice medal for helping in the war.

The V1 flying bomb was known as the doodle bug because of the buzzing noise the V1 bomb makes when it’s flying. The V2 bomb flew faster then the speed of sound, that meant you couldn’t even hear it coming. Content /\ Click me

Content Evacuation was at 1943 when Winston Churchill said to all parents that children had to be evacuated to other parts of England or other places in the world!
