Regional Targets By the end of 2013 Maldives & Sri Lanka “Certified” as having achieved LF elimination ≥ 5 rounds of MDA completed in at least half of the IUs in BAN, IND, MYR &NEP will initiate measures to “Stop” MDA in these IUs Scale-up MDA to cover the entire endemic population in INO & TLS Scale-up disability prevention and alleviation activities in all countries By the end of 2015 Thailand “Certified” as having achieved LF elimination ≥ 5 rounds of MDA completed in all Ius in BAN, IND, MYR & NEP Action to “Stop” MDA initiated in BAN, IND, MYR & NEP Indonesia initiates measures to “Stop” MDA in IUs which have completed ≥ 5 rounds of MDA Disability prevention & alleviation activities continued in all countries Post-MDA surveillance established in all countries

STH in SEAR Endemic in all 11 countries 8 countries are considered as moderate-high burden An estimated 371 million (42% of global burden) children in SEA require treatment India and Indonesia together bear 80% of the regional burden Preventive chemotherapy (PC) through de- worming programme exist in all countries

LF in South-East Asia Region SEA Region bears 63% (875 million) of people at risk of LF and 50% (60 million) of infected people All three lymphatic filarial parasites (W.bancrofti, Brugia malayi, B.timori) are prevlaent in the Region 9 out of 11 Member States are endemic for LF Three Member States have reached elimination target
