Super Slugger By John Locker

I did a baseball to show that Cody was apart of a championship baseball team. When he was playing baseball, he wasn’t thinking about being bullied or being the new kid in school.

I did Baltimore because he just moved here from Wisconsin. It is challenging for him to be at a new school with no friends and being overweight. Playing on the baseball team allows him to make friends and be part of a group.

I did a weight scale because everyone makes fun of Cody because he is overweight. His weight leads to the bullying by Dante. In the story, his coach thought just because he is overweight, he couldn’t play third base. However, everyone finds out that he’s a great third baseman no matter what his weight.

I did a bully because in the book Cody gets bullied by Dante. Later in the story, you find out that the reason Dante bully's him is because Dante is being bullied by his two older brothers at home.

I put a robber to show that things were being stolen from his middle school. The stealing leads to the story of why Dante is bullying other kids. I also show a detective because Cody’s dad was a detective, and Cody helped solve the missing items mystery by doing some of his own detective work.
