US CO 2 Emissions By Sector

48% of the total energy consumption in the US comes from BUILDINGS

Buildings are hidden polluters

 40% of the carbon dioxide (out of the 48%) that buildings emit is actually in the BUILDING OPERATIONS Heating Lighting Cooling Hot water

 The other 8% of carbon dioxide (out of the 48%) emissions comes from PRODUCING MATERIALS FOR THE BUILDINGS and the CONSTRUCTION PROCESS
