Christmas in Venezuela In Venezuela, Christmas is celebrated with traditional customs and many religions. They decorate their house with lights on the inside and outside.
Traditions It is a tradition that Venezuelans go to at least one of the nine carol services. The worshipers are awoken every morning from December 16 th - 24 th from their sleep from the sound of bells and firecrackers.
Christmas Food They often eat hallaca and tamales. Desserts include black cake, sweet papaya, and sweet milk.
Christmas Day On Christmas morning, the kids wake up to find presents under the tree from Baby Jesus instead of Santa Claus.
Pesebres On the 16 th of December, the family brings out their pesebres, or their mangers.
Vroooooom!! In Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, they roller-skate to early morning church services. Luckily, it isn’t icy there, so it’s safe to skate.
