SOUTH JUNIOR HIGH ACTIVITIES PHILOSOPHY  NO CUTS!  EQUAL PLAYING TIME. ACTIVITIES CAN HAVE A POSITIVE EFFECT ON A MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT  There are several researched needs of a middle school student that can be met through activities:  Trusting relationship with an adult. (Coach)  The need to make friends. (Teammates)  Formation of an identity. (Role on a Team)  The need to play and have fun.  Sense of belonging. EXPECTATIONS OF STUDENTS  Attend practice each day. (Practices are Monday- Thursday 3:30-5:30. (Students will be ready for pick-up at 5:30!)  We will practice on Fridays if we have a short week or a canceled practice.  Be on time for practices and events.  Have a positive attitude.  Take care of uniform and equipment.  Your son/daughter must return ALL school equipment at the end of the sports season.  Bring schedules home.  Respect teammates, opponents, coaches, & officials.  Respect the school and property.  Represent your school and community in a positive & respectful way.  Attend practice each day.
