LECTURER 1  Home Based Publication - 50 percent (Maximum)  National Publication - 50 percent  International Publication - 0 percent (International Publication is Not mandatory at this level)

SENIOR LECTURER  Home Based Publication - 40 percent (Maximum)  National Publication- 50 percent  International Publication- 10 percent (Minimum)

READER  Home Based Publication - 30 percent (Maximum)  National Publication- 50 percent  International Publication- 20 percent (Minimum)

PROFESSOR  Home Based Publication - 20 percent (Maximum)  National Publication - 50 percent  International Publication - 30 percent (Minimum)

HOME BASED PUBLICATION Articles in Journals and/or Chapters in Books published within the writer’s vicinity by:  Departments.  Faculties.  Universities. The Editorial Board Members are drawn mainly from within the same Institution.

NATIONAL PUBLICATIONS Articles in Journals and/or Chapters in Books published within Nigeria by:  National Professional/Academic Associations.  Departments and/or Faculties.  Universities. The Editorial Board Members of such publications must reflect national spread.

INTERNATIONAL  Articles in Journal and/or Chapter in Books published outside Nigeria or where the Editorial Board Members consist of both Nigerians and Non-Nigerians.  Evidence of participation of Non-Nigerians in the Decision Making Process of the Publication shall be Ascertained.  The Journal must be on the internet, have international spread of contributors and be regular.

POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS’ JOURNAL, RESIDENT DOCTORS’ JOURNALS, EITHER STATE OR NATIONAL  AVOID JOURNALS NOT FOCUSED ON A SPECIFIC ACADEMIC DISCIPLINE e.g. Wilolud Online Journals - Akure (23 disciplines), Research Communications – Lagos (20 disciplines).

 AVOID SELF PUBLICATION - (BY PRINTERS)  AVIOD PUBLICATIONS BY NON-DEGREE AWARDING INSTITUTIONS  AVOID DUPLICATION OR REPETITION OF YOUR PUBLICATIONS. BEWARE OF SELF PLAGIARISM  DIVERSIFY YOUR OUTLET. DON’T PUBLISH MANY PAPERS IN THE SAME JOURNAL
